I thought your explanations were thorough, and also used good examples and analogies to help with our understanding. The notes that went with the lesson are also very useful to refer back to.

Your messages were delivered with warmth, kindness and authority. Our chats ticked all the right boxes for me: short, clear explanations, real examples based on photos and a practical session to employ the concepts taught.

I found it all helpful in enabling me to use my camera with confidence and with a much better understanding of what makes a good photo ...

From just two sessions and the follow up information you kindly provide, I can already see an improvement in my photos. I do not believe a book or website alone, could have helped me achieve this, at least not in such a short space of time.

This truly has been money well spent, in fact, I honestly feel you should be charging more!

More importantly, it has given me impetus to go out and shoot again ... you have given me inspiration!

I personally like the technical part of the material, I found it quite cool. I am definitely interested in taking the field trip ... all in all, I am very glad that I took your lessons!

No matter how many times I read the manual and various websites, it was never quite clear and concise. The way you explained it ... was tremendously helpful and everything just makes so much more sense now.

They are easy to follow and not intimating at all. It's like a light bulb is switched on! I don't have to crunch on all those photography books for now, because I was more confused the more I read them.

I would highly recommend you to my friends and any others who would like to kick start their photography passion.

... it was a very useful and relaxed way of getting insight into photography; insights that you can't get from books (I tried, but there's only so much a book can teach you - you need to be able to ask questions once in a while). I came out knowing a lot more and being able to practice specific areas on my own.

I could feel your enthusiasm, which spread to me and made the material very interesting.

My favorite part of the lesson was where we learnt about composition ... it was to the point and extremely helpful!

... the materials you prepared are so simple and useful. Most important it is easy to understand.

I think that the handouts are very clear and comprehensive and it was good working through those. I particularly liked the photographic examples you had that illustrated your handouts.

... I learned so much! As for my likes, below is list, definitely not comprehensive by any means: • the notes you provided during the lesson; • follow up emails with links; • visuals on your iPad were KEY!!; • the various examples you talked through; • the examples you showed on my camera.

We are excited to put our learning into action ... we really enjoyed hearing about a composition concept and then seeing pictures that employed the concept. It was very helpful and we felt we were able to better grasp the concept that way.

It was also very nice that at no time did you seem rushed. It was a laid back, enjoyable learning environment. Thank you again for all of the tips, links, learnings and cheat sheets.

I think it is very funny and interesting how I now see the world through different eyes. I find myself walking down the street and often thinking 'oh this could be a nice photo'.

This made it easier to visualise and understand concepts that had otherwise been difficult to comprehend from manual and other photography literature. It now all makes sense revisiting this literature after the lessons. Handouts were well written and easy to follow even once you got home.

Lesson on composition was well complimented with your amazing photographs - very inspiring ... my favourite part of the course. It was great to understand what makes a good photo and what appeals to the eye.

I would say brilliant. Completely enjoyed the lessons, Lesson 2 being the best.

It's a good starting point, because now reading information on how to take good photos - whether it be a book, internet, magazine - makes more sense.

The first lesson was great - everything was explained in easy terms and made it all very simple to understand. The second lesson was very interesting and enjoyable and made me look at photography in a way I'd never thought of before.

I found it very useful how you would explain something and then followed it up with a photograph as an example - this is a great way to learn!

It was very helpful, and very much enjoyed the lessons! You made it so simple.

In that respect, the first lesson was the most practical. I was pleased that you could adapt your lessons to address my particular problems. Two lessons are clearly not enough to turn me into a first-rate photographer, but they certainly helped me to understand the basics together with the tools and principles.

Now I plan to go step by step, back to your notes and practice one thing at a time. I needed to understand how the camera works ...

The second part was my favorite. I will look and try to take photos in a different way now ... All your explanations are very clear and organised ...

You have a skill of making things very simple, the lessons were very clear and informative and I really liked seeing samples of photographs in relation to parts of the lesson, I now have a very clear idea of what it takes to create a good photo.

I would recommend to friends to do the course ... and I really look forward to doing a field trip!

As a total novice I came away with enough information to give me the confidence to go out and try shooting outside of the Auto mode for the first time in my life.

Stripping the jargon down to plain old English helped a lot. I've tried reading some books before but almost always gave up after a few chapters ...

Your lessons were very clear, entertaining and easy to understand. Also your way of speaking is lively and entertaining, you kept my attention and made those two lessons fly.

... one of the most helpful parts was ... being able to go through a couple of my own shots with you and having your constructive criticism.

The first lesson was very educational as I was a bit intimidated by all the different signs and markings on the menu and camera. I also felt more confident knowing I can consciously create certain effects (as opposed to just stumbling across them by chance).

The second lesson I really enjoyed, because not only were your explanations thorough, but the use of visuals made it very interesting and also very encouraging. It was fascinating ...

All in all, I have come away from your classes more confident and also extremely excited ...
